We are seeking an experienced SAP Cross-Functional Data Lead to manage and coordinate data activities across multiple SAP modules. This role requires extensive SAP data migration expertise, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of various SAP functional domains. The ideal candidate will play a key role in overseeing data strategy, ensuring data quality, and managing data governance across SAP implementations and integrations.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Strategy & Planning:
Develop and implement comprehensive data management strategies for complex SAP environments
Work closely with SAP functional teams (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, HR, etc.) to understand data requirements and dependencies.
Design a detailed data migration plan, including timelines, resources, and technical requirements.
Design data governance frameworks, ensuring data integrity and compliance across all SAP modules.
End-to-End Data Migration:
Lead end-to-end data migration projects, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) for large-scale SAP implementations.
Manage data mapping, validation, and transformation activities for multiple functional areas (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, HR, etc.).
Utilize advanced SAP tools (e.g., SAP Data Services, LSMW, BODS, SLT) to facilitate seamless data migration processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with business analysts, functional consultants, and technical teams to ensure data alignment across SAP modules.
Conduct workshops with stakeholders to gather detailed data requirements, address concerns, and provide expert guidance
Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather data requirements from stakeholders.
Ensure consistent data definitions and standards across all functional areas.
Data Quality Assurance & Governance:
Establish data quality standards, validation checks, and governance procedures to ensure data accuracy post-migration.
Perform data audits and develop data reconciliation processes to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
Implement data governance best practices and ensure compliance with data security standards.
Leadership & Project Management:
Lead and mentor a team of data analysts and specialists, guiding them through complex data migration tasks.
Act as the primary point of contact for data-related activities, updates, and issue resolution.
Provide regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders on data progress and challenges.
Testing & Validation:
Develop data validation scripts, test cases, and user acceptance testing (UAT) plans to ensure data integrity.
Coordinate UAT efforts with functional teams to verify data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Document data migration outcomes, lessons learned, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience:
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in SAP data migration, data integration, or SAP data management roles.
Proven experience in leading at least 3-5 full-cycle SAP implementations, including S/4HANA migration projects.
Strong expertise in SAP data migration tools (SAP Data Services, LSMW, BODS) and ETL processes.
In-depth knowledge of multiple SAP modules (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, HR, WM) and cross-functional integration.
Experience with cloud-based SAP environments and tools (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP Fiori) is a plus.
Skills:
Strong expertise in SAP data structures, data mapping, and data transformation rules.
Proficient in SQL, ETL tools, and data migration best practices.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle complex cross-functional projects.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Certifications (Preferred):
SAP Certifications in relevant modules (e.g., SAP FI, SAP MM, SAP SD, SAP S/4HANA).
PMP, PRINCE2, or other project management certifications.
Data management or data quality certifications (e.g., CDMP).
